Bushehr port is the capital of Bushehr province, one of Iran's provinces. This city is also the center of Bushehr city. The population of this city is equal to 213,060 people based on the latest census. Most of the people of Bushehr speak Persian. The modern port of Bushehr was revived by Nader Shah Afshar in 1736 AD. The name of this place was rooted before that. The name of Bushehr itself has a long history. The old dialect of Bushehr city is a type of Persian language called Bushehri dialect.

The building of Bushehr has been attributed to Ardeshir Sassanid, but the current Bushehr, which has a history of 150 years, was built by "Abu Mahiri" son of Sheikh Naser Khan (the captain of Nader Shah's ships) in the year 1500 AH. The reason for the establishment of this city was because Nader Shah wanted to build a port in the south and also to establish a navy[6]. This port became so prosperous that it was considered as a great competitor to the port of Basra. This commercial prosperity progressed to the extent that "Haj Mohammad Shafi" obtained the permission to print and publish common banknotes of Bushehr, and this privilege remained in Bushehr until the establishment of Shahi Bank. Bushehr port was one of the first centers that had a lithographic printing industry and was also a leader in the ice-making and electricity industries. The people of this city were among the first people of Iran to get acquainted with newspapers and magazines. The Gulf of Iran and the Call of the South, also due to the prosperity and special location, the first representative offices of commercial companies and consulates of foreign governments, including Britain, Germany, Russia, and the Ottoman Empire, were opened in this city.

Domestic flights are also carried out on the routes of Bushehr to Tehran, Kish Island, Isfahan, Shiraz, Mashhad, Asalouye and Khark. The average flight from Bushehr International Airport is 70 flights per week. One of the most important features of this airport is its accident-free nature.
Bushehr National Day:
The 18th of March, the anniversary of the establishment of Saadat School, Bushehr Day, has been called the treasure of the Persian Gulf. Every year, Bandar Bushehr Municipal Cultural and Sports Institute organizes the Bushehr Day ceremony with the participation of the Bushehr Day commemoration headquarters.
